Michael's First Swim Lesson

Lately, I feel like I have almost been obsessing with the fear of the boys being around water. Grant took lessons last year and can actually swim pretty well, but Michael would be in serious trouble if he fell in and nobody was around. I am really cautious when we're near a pool and never let them out of my sight, but there's always the "what if" that freaks me out. My family has a pool, which is too high to climb and has a lock and everything, but "what if?"...
Anyway, even though I am due soon and busy with all of that, I decided it needed to happen now...and lucky for me Chris' aunt teaches at her home! It went better than I had anticipated, but he still got pretty grouchy toward the end. He never got out and ran to me, so that was a plus! He has his second lesson today, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I've enjoyed watching him interact with someone else and not paying attention to me much- he's such a funny little boy!
I'm excited for this, for him to learn some basic survival skills...then maybe I will be able to calm down, just a little.

I think if you live in AZ, it's essential to teach your kids how to swim. There are just too many people with pools, and every summer, you hear at least 1 news story about a kid drowning. So good job for being smart! I would like my boys to learn swimming as well, but in UT where nobody has a pool, it's not as big of a deal.

Oh I love Michael. He's so cute! I've been wanting to put Ty in swimming lessons too. All of the city ones are Mom 'n tot and I don't want to have to get in the pool with him, seeing as how I've got little Bennett now. Do you know how much Chris's aunt charges?
